Know the difference between you and your ego.

There was a hungry snake in a city. He was wandering for food when he came across this hardware shop. The shop has a messy owner. Things were lying around carelessly. Sharpy tools were all around the place.

The snake entered the shop and was looking for food. While moving around the shop, he scratched himself with a saw. The sharp saw left him with a small bleeding cut. The snake thought the saw tried to attack him. He got angry. His ego said that he should attack the saw back to show him how powerful he was.

The snake tried to choke the saw by wrapping himself around the saw. When the snake wrapped himself around the saw, he got more wounds around his body. The snake thought the saw was attacking him, so the snake kept tightening his grip around the saw. The tighter the grip of the snake around the saw, the more he was bleeding of cuts. Eventually, the snake died.

The snake loses control over his own thoughts. He thought that the saw was attacking him and he should portray himself as more powerful than the saw but attacking him harder. But, his ego didn’t let him think clearly that the character of the saw is to be sharp.

The same happens in our lives when we let our ego take control of our thinking ability. We bluntly, without giving it a thought try to win the situation not knowing the result and consequences of it.

Sometimes we forget that the number of things we will lose while trying to win our ego will be more than the number of things we will achieve after winning. Sometimes it's important to ignore a few problems and things in life that will not help you grow constructively, that will drain you, and things that will not let you move forward towards your destiny. While trying to justify your ego, you end up losing more crucial things in life.

So let go of things that won’t help you grow, that are obstacles in the path of your destiny. Sometimes letting things go can benefit you more than holding onto them. Try to stay away from those things and focus more on what's really important to you.

Whenever you face a situation that challenges your ego, don’t jump right into it. Think of it as an opportunity to extend your thinking and take it in a more positive way, from a narrow mind thinking of satisfying your ego to an open mind to let it go and focus on the more important tasks. Let your mind and souls grow to peace.

Take charge of your emotions, don’t let them take charge of you.

Thank you for reading the story. I'm sure you understood the moral of the story and won't let your ego and anger take charge of you. I would be grateful if this story will help in any way. Do let me know if you find it helpful.
